State Road 37 Improvements

  1. 126th Street

Phase I, II & III construction on 126th Street & SR 37 have been completed. These phases consisted of temporary pavement and crossovers on SR 37 along with widening 131st Street at Parkside Drive and the construction of the bridge on the west side of 126th Street & SR 37. Utility relocation has been completed as well in this intersection. The next phase of construction will be the excavation of the intersection and construction of the bridge on the east side of 126th Street.

Phase IV of construction is underway with traffic currently shifted to the west. Traffic is now restricted on 126th Street across SR 37 with only right in and right out. Northbound SR 37 traffic will not have access to 126th Street and will shift to Southbound lanes. Two lanes will remain in each direction. 126th Street from the Nickel Plate Trail crossing to Ford Drive will close on Monday, August 10 and is anticipated to reopen in late September. Motorists are encouraged to use 131st Street while this is under construction. See the Detour Route

    146th Street
146th street interchange was awarded in February 2020 to the lowest bidder, Rieth Riley. The project will commence once all the utilities have been relocated.

Utilities are currently on site and there will be intermittent lane restrictions throughout the summer to accommodate relocations.

Tree clearing will also be completed before April 1. The first phase of construction is anticipated to begin in the Fall of 2020.
